Priorities in Office

Leadership is measured by results, not rhetoric. Brett’s priorities are shaped by years on the front lines of public safety and a clear understanding of what happens when government fails to act. These are not theoretical issues. They are real, and they demand firm, decisive leadership.

Public Safety

Public safety is the first responsibility of government. Without it, nothing else works.

For years, Brett has confronted violent crime head-on, prosecuted repeat offenders, and stood with victims and law enforcement when it mattered most. He understands that strong laws mean nothing without consistent enforcement. Communities are safest when criminals know there are consequences and victims know the system stands with them.

Public safety requires backing law enforcement, holding violent and habitual offenders accountable, and refusing to weaken the justice system in the name of political trends. Texas must continue to lead with law-and-order policies that protect families, neighborhoods, and businesses.

Border Security

Border security is a public safety issue, plain and simple.

Brett has seen firsthand how cartel activity, human trafficking, and drug smuggling tied to an unsecured border reach deep into Texas communities. These crimes do not stop at the Rio Grande. They show up in local courtrooms, strain law enforcement resources, and put families at risk.

Texas must continue to take decisive action to secure the border, disrupt criminal networks, and support state and local law enforcement efforts. Sovereignty, safety, and the rule of law are not negotiable.

Protecting Texas Kids

Protecting children means confronting modern threats with clear eyes and strong resolve.

Brett created the Internet Crimes Against Children division in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office because he saw how online exploitation, predatory behavior, and unchecked digital platforms endanger kids. He understands how harmful social media exposure can be weaponized against children and families.

Texas should take serious steps to reduce children’s exposure to dangerous online content, following the lead of countries like Australia that have acted to protect minors. Safeguarding kids online is not about censorship. It is about accountability, parental rights, and protecting the most vulnerable from harm.

Property Taxes

Texans should own their homes, not rent them from the government.

Rising property taxes are forcing families, seniors, and small businesses to make impossible choices. Brett believes government must live within its means and stop balancing budgets on the backs of property owners.

Real reform means limiting excessive appraisal increases, demanding transparency from taxing entities, and reducing reliance on property taxes altogether. Fiscal discipline and accountability are essential to keeping Montgomery County affordable and economically strong.

Flooding and Flood Mitigation

Flooding is a persistent threat in East Montgomery County and throughout the Lake Houston area, and it demands long-term leadership rather than short-term promises.

Effective flood mitigation requires sustained investment in infrastructure, improved drainage and water management, and coordination across jurisdictions. One-off projects are not enough. Protecting homes, businesses, and public safety depends on comprehensive planning and responsible infrastructure decisions across the entire watershed.

Flood mitigation is about preparation, resilience, and protecting families before the next storm arrives.

Grounded Leadership

Brett’s priorities are grounded in years of service making difficult decisions with real consequences. He has led from the front, built specialized units to combat serious crime, protected children and victims, and worked closely with law enforcement and lawmakers to strengthen public safety.

That perspective brings clarity, discipline, and a refusal to back down from tough issues. It is leadership rooted in accountability, conservative principles, and a commitment to protecting Texas families.
