Brett Ligon Announces Candidacy for May 2 Special Election for Texas Senate District 4

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Montgomery, TX) Brett Ligon announced today that he will be a candidate in the May 2 Special Election to fill the unexpired term for Texas Senate District 4, following the vacancy left by former Senator Brandon Creighton. Ligon has drawn a Democrat opponent, making turnout critical for Republicans who want to keep Senate District 4 under Republican leadership.

“I’m asking every Republican across Senate District 4 to make a plan to vote in the May 2 Special Election,” Ligon said. “This election will determine who immediately represents our district in Austin, and it is vital that we keep Senate District 4 in strong Republican hands.”

Ligon, former Montgomery County District Attorney and the Republican nominee for Senate District 4, said he is ready to serve the communities of Chambers, Galveston, Harris, Jefferson, and Montgomery counties and to ensure the district maintains strong conservative leadership in Austin.

“The people of Senate District 4 deserve a senator who will fight for public safety, protect our values, and stand up for our communities.  I am ready to go to work on day one to represent the families and businesses of this district.”

Ligon will also appear on the November General Election ballot, again facing a Democrat challenger, this time for the full Senate term that begins in 2027.
