Montgomery, Texas — Republican Brett Ligon secured a commanding victory in Saturday’s special election for Texas Senate District 4, earning more than 75 percent of the vote against his Democratic opponent and winning overwhelming support district-wide.
The victory follows Ligon’s March Republican primary win, in which he also received more than 75 percent of the vote. He will now complete the remainder of the unexpired term previously held by Senator Brandon Creighton.
“The voters of Senate District 4 delivered a clear message once again,” said Ligon. “They want strong conservative leadership, safe communities, secure borders, responsible government, and a senator who will stand up for the families and values that make Texas strong. I am deeply honored by their trust, and I am ready to get to work.”
Ligon, who served for 17 years as Montgomery County District Attorney, said public safety will remain at the center of his service in the Texas Senate.
“Public safety means protecting our communities from violent crime, securing our border, defending children from online predators, supporting law enforcement, and addressing the flooding that threatens homes, families, and businesses throughout our region,” Ligon said. “These are serious responsibilities, and I will approach them with the same determination, honesty, and commitment that guided me throughout my career as District Attorney.”
Surrounded by friends and family at his victory party, Ligon expressed his appreciation to the Republican leaders, volunteers, and supporters whose efforts helped secure the victory.
“Republicans across this district worked incredibly hard,” Ligon said. “They made thousands of phone calls, knocked on doors, visited with voters, sent text messages, displayed signs, prayed for our campaign, and gave countless hours of their time. This victory would not have been possible without their dedication. I am deeply grateful to every person who stood with us and helped carry our conservative message throughout Senate District 4.”
Although the special-election victory allows Ligon to begin serving as the Senator for Texas’ Senate District 4, he emphasized that the campaign will continue through the November general election for a full four-year term.
“Our work is not finished,” Ligon said. “We will continue earning the trust of voters, building our grassroots organization, and sharing our conservative vision with families across the district. I will always fight for their safety, their families, their freedoms, and the values that make Texas the greatest state in America.”
“God bless Texas, and God bless Senate District 4.”
